MyHouse Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

MyHouse is operated by Dodo Group LLC, a Texas limited liability company.

1. Introduction

MyHouse ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of the individuals who use our platform ("Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over your data.

By using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including realtors, tenants, and landlords.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you provide when you create an account, submit a rental application, or use Platform features, including:

  • Full name, email address, phone number, and date of birth
  • Government-issued identification documents
  • Employment information, income documentation, and pay stubs
  • Bank statements and financial records submitted as part of a rental application
  • Social Security Number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (where required for application processing)
  • Rental history and references
  • Self-reported financial information entered into Homeownership Journey tools (income, debts, savings, credit score estimates)
  • Communications between you and realtors through the Platform

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Platform
  • Referring URLs and click paths
  • Session identifiers and cookies

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from third-party service providers integrated with the Platform, including:

  • Payment processing data from Stripe, Inc.
  • Identity verification data from third-party verification providers
  • Any other information you authorize a third party to share with us

2.4 Financial Account Information (via Plaid)

When you choose to connect a bank account, we use Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to securely access your financial information. We do not receive or store your bank login credentials — these are handled directly by Plaid. Through Plaid, we access and store the following from the accounts you connect:

  • Account information: account name, type, and current/available balances;
  • Transaction history: transaction dates, amounts, descriptions, merchant names, and category information;
  • Institution information: the name of your financial institution.

We use this information to verify your income, assess your financial readiness, detect recurring obligations, and generate the financial insights and recommendations provided through our Services. This information is stored in association with your profile until you disconnect your account or request deletion. You may disconnect your bank account at any time through your dashboard, which removes our ongoing access to your financial data. Plaid's use of your information is governed by Plaid's own Privacy Policy at plaid.com/legal.

2.5 Tenant Screening (via TransUnion SmartMove)

Our Services may direct you to TransUnion SmartMove ("SmartMove"), a third-party tenant screening service, to complete credit and background screening as part of a rental application. When you choose to proceed, you are redirected to TransUnion's own platform, and we may pass basic identifying information (such as your name and email address) to pre-fill your request. We do not receive, access, or store the results of any SmartMove screening. All screening data — including credit reports, background checks, and eviction history — is collected and processed by TransUnion and delivered directly to the requesting party through TransUnion's platform. MyHouse is not a consumer reporting agency and plays no role in the screening determination. Your use of SmartMove is governed by TransUnion's own terms and privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 With Realtors

Tenants acknowledge that information submitted as part of a rental application — including personal details, financial documents, and identification — will be shared with the realtor managing that listing. Realtors are required under our Terms of Service to maintain the confidentiality of this information and use it solely for application evaluation purposes.

4.2 With Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing
  • OpenAI — AI-assisted document analysis and application review
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — secure data storage and platform operation

These providers are contractually required to use your information only as directed by us and in accordance with this Policy.

4.3 With Lender Partners (With Your Consent)

In the future, we may offer tenants the option to share Homeownership Journey data — such as readiness scores and financial snapshots — with lender partners to facilitate mortgage pre-qualification or homeownership planning services. We will never share this data with lenders without your explicit, opt-in consent at the time of sharing. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us at support@my-house.info.

4.4 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation, court order, or government request
  • Protect and defend the rights or property of MyHouse
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Platform
  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public

4.5 Business Transfers

If MyHouse is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. Specifically:

  • Account information is retained for the duration of your account and up to 3 years after closure
  • Rental application documents (including financial records and identification) are retained for up to 2 years after the application is closed or withdrawn
  • Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and Stripe's data retention policies
  • Homeownership Journey data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon verified account closure

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at support@my-house.info. Note that we may be required to retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately at support@my-house.info if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Platform. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences and understand how you use the Platform.

You may configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that some features of the Platform may not function properly if cookies are disabled.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or sell data to advertising networks.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

8.1 Access and Correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct any inaccuracies by contacting us at support@my-house.info.

You may request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format.

8.4 Opt-Out of Communications

You may opt out of non-essential communications from us at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

8.5 Texas Privacy Rights

If you are a Texas resident, you have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act ("TDPSA"), including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal data, and the right to opt out of certain processing activities. To exercise your rights under the TDPSA, please contact us at support@my-house.info. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days as required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email or a prominent notice on the Platform before the changes take effect.
